Women Empowerment

MPSSM, initiated its work through women empowerment activities. In the early years, MPSSM worked with women suffering from forced prostitution. It created awareness in them about safe sexual practices, supported their children in education, etc. 

 

MPSSM also formed more than 100 women  self help groups and supported them with seed capital, and helped them access credit from local and nationalised banks. The women as groups started micro enterprise activities. 

MPSSM also trained widow and destitute women in tailoring and other such skilled building activities, which helped these women in accessing livelihood on their own and not become dependent on others.
