Climate Change and Natural Resource Management
MPSSM believes that at Global level, climate change is a major issue for ensuring good and sustainable life, not just for mankind, but for ensuring a sustainable symbiotic process for all organisms in the ecosystem.
MPSSM, further believes that through proper implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme (MNREGA), natural resource management can be done. Through activities under MNREGA such as afforestation, water conservation activities, horticulture, land development, the flora and fauna in the region is established. To mark as it’s achievement, villages such as Padali, Kamone, Alsunde, etc are now free from drought and these villages are much greener than the neighbouring ones.
Over 50 villages and more than 5000 hectares of land was converted into barren and green land, through these activities. Through MGNREGA and watershed development, MPSSM also did water conservation activities.
